Our carpet options are divided into three areas. These areas are "Front carpet", "Seating area carpet", and "Baggage carpet" (please see pictures and diagrams below).

All of our carpet pieces are backed with a continuous velcro loop material to allow them to be easily secured with velcro hook. All edges are finished with serging (except where noted on the front carpet piece). All of our carpets are treated and tested to comply with FAA flammability requirements on a lot by lot basis. All lab reports are on file.
The front carpet comes with closed cell foam pieces to fill in the areas between the floor stiffeners. These pieces have velcro loop on the bottom, and velcro hook on the top. This allows them to be held securely in place (). This is important for the floor carpet because otherwise the carpet will be pushed forward against the firewall and permenately wrinkled. The front carpet piece also includes heel pads to protect the carpet.
Because of the changes to the RV-6A over the years, there are a number of variables that can affect the fit of the carpet (especially the front carpet). We work with the customer to determine what changes must be made for their particular aircraft. If there are any details that you think would have an affect, please let us know.
Some customers make an access door in the floor of the baggage area. If this is the case, we can make a removable panel in the baggage area carpet that is held in place with velcro. We make the opening 1" larger than the access door on each side (see diagram at left).
All carpets and backing materials meet the FAA flammability requirements specified under FAR 25.853 (a) Appendix F Part 1 (a)(1)(ii).

Information needed to order
Front Floor Carpet
- Carpet color - See color options above.
- Fuel system - Is your plane carbureted or fuel injected?
- Fuel injection type - If your plane is fuel injected, please provide a picture.
- Fuel flow transducer - If you have fuel injection, and will have a fuel flow transducer in your fuel supply line, where will it be located?
- Heel pad location - In order to put the heel pad in the correct location, we need to know the distance from the firwall to where the heels rest on the floor (see diagram below):
- Fuel vent locations - measure distance from fuel vents to center line.
Seating Area Carpet
- Carpet color - See color options above.
- Flaps - Does your plane have manual or electric flaps (manual is standard)?
Baggage Floor Carpet
- Carpet color - See color options above.
- Access opening (Yes/No) - Sometimes customers request that we make one or more openings in the baggage floor carpet to access items under the floor like a concealed ELT or storage compartment. Please note that there is an additional cost for this option.
