What's My Style?

The styles that our customers prefer cover a wide spectrum. On one end there are what we call "sporty" or "flashy" styles. On the other end is the more "reserved" or "formal" look. Most of our customers fall somewhere in between, but it is usually best to make a conscious decision which style you prefer, and not try to be both.

The proposed paint scheme of the aircraft is probably the best indicator of what style the customer wants to achieve, and will help us design an interior that matches that style. Paint schemes with checkerboards, wide stripes, and bright colors would be what we consider "Sporty". In contrast paint schemes with subtle stripes, smooth graceful lines, and deep or earth tone colors are what we would consider more "Formal".

The trick is to translate this into the appropriate look for your interior. "Sporty" interiors usually have several characteristics in common with each other. Seats are often two-tone (or more). It is common to use bright colors that create a significant contrast (for example black trim with bright yellow inserts). Embroidery, if any, may be larger, a more pronounced design, or in a color that contrasts strongly with its background.

"Formal" interiors follow almost the opposite conventions. Seats may be a single color, or two colors that do not strongly contrast. Typically, if two colors are used on a seat they will be from the same color family (for example a light tan trim with brown inserts). Colors usually consist of earth tones, deep colors, or grays. Primary colors are avoided. Embroidery will be smaller in overall size, and act more as an accent rather than a dominant feature.
